We gratefully acknowledge over 1,500 Heart & Sole Walkers who rallied the support of their friends, neighbors, and coworkers to raise $1.5 million to feed the hungry. Heart & Sole Walkers who raised more than $1,000 are also part of our Leadership Circle.
“Since I started walking in 1988, The Walk for Hunger has
become a part of my life and a way to give back to those less
fortunate. It's also become a tradition for our state — a
tradition rooted in the innate qualities of human nature —
compassion, kindness, and concern. It thrills me to be part
of something this big!”
— Gabriel Yepes, Heart & Sole Walker,
who has walked for over 23 years and has raised
a total of $390,455 for hungry people
“I do The Walk for Hunger each year
because I want to help show how many of us
are out there fighting against hunger. Food
is one of our basic needs and if children go
hungry, they can't do well in school; if
parents go hungry, they can't provide a
good life for their families; and if adults
go hungry, they can't always afford to
look for work and make a better life for
themselves and their families. No one in
the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
should have to go without food and those
of us who can help, should. It is the only
way to make a difference.”
— Sharon Lowe, Heart & Sole Walker, who has
raised a total of $44,410 since 2004
